NAME: Waylon Roberts

EDUCATION: Completed diploma at Port Perry High School in 2006.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING: I have been a working student for John Whitaker in England, receiving tutelage and competition experience from him. I have been trained in hunters and jumpers by Mark Hayes in Canada and the United States. I have also ridden John Macpherson’s Grand Prix dressage horse in some third level tests. Rode with David Hopper at his sales barn in Amenia, New York.

NON EQUINE EXPERIENCE: I have worked in a butcher shop, regular maintenance jobs around farm; cut grass, felled trees, baled hay, roofed, all sorts of little jobs.

PREVIOUS JOBS: Worked for Mark Hayes on the Ontario hunter jumper circuit, as well as on the Ocala circuit. I have been working for Dreamcrest Farm in Port Perry, Ontario.

HORSE EXPERIENCE: Was a member of the Canadian Pan American Games silver medal team, in 2007. I Rode a double clear cross-country round at the 2008 Rolex Kentucky Three-day Event, with Paleface. I have competed at young riders four times, and won a team bronze in 2006. Top five in the Canadian Equitation Final at the Royal Agricultural Winter fair in 2006. I have been competing at the advanced level for two years.

I am qualified because I can help bring the young horses along and by providing my knowledge, support and fresh ideas to enhance the team.
WHAT BROUGT YOU TO “TEAM CHIACCHIA”? (HOW DID YOU MEET DARREN)
I have known of Darren for a long time now, but have only really gotten to know him in the last couple of month’s. It was at a competition this year when Darren approached me with the idea of me coming to be a part of his team. Since then we have been working out the details and I am looking forward to being a part of the team.
